Endometrial and Cervical Cancer Treatments

Endometrial and cervical cancers together account for a large share of gynecologic malignancies worldwide, and improving outcomes depends on understanding both the biology of these tumors and the precision of the treatments applied to them. Researchers are refining how cancers are classified at the molecular level, which is reshaping decisions about who needs aggressive therapy and who can safely avoid it, while surgical approaches like robotic-assisted procedures and staging techniques such as sentinel lymph node biopsy are reducing treatment-related harm without sacrificing accuracy. Radiation strategies, including brachytherapy and chemoradiotherapy, remain central to management, particularly for cervical cancer, though optimal sequencing and patient selection are still actively debated. Central open questions include how molecular subtypes should directly guide radiation and systemic therapy choices, and how to balance the survival benefits of established treatments against their long-term effects on quality of life.
