Artistic and creative research treats the act of making — writing a poem, staging a performance, designing an object — as a legitimate mode of inquiry, one that generates knowledge not easily captured through conventional academic methods. Scholars and practitioners working here examine how creative processes produce insight, how that insight can be communicated and evaluated within institutional contexts, and what it means to treat a screenplay or a choreographic work as both an outcome and an argument.
